The laws against homosexuality in the bible, have the same value as the myriad of other laws expressed in the Old Testament, from not wearing mixed fabrics, to killing disobedient children. These were all expressed as God’s laws. So if Christians [or any other religion] want to make a big fuss against homosexuality because of the laws of the Bible (as opposed to the actual reason, that they’re uncomfortable about how it challenges their cultural norms and their internalized acceptance of patriarchy and solidified hierarchical gender roles), they are hypocrites unless they are also making a big fuss against the myriad of transgressions against the other 632 laws in the Old Testament. Conversely, if they argue that those other laws are no longer in effect, or no longer have any relevance, then they are hypocrites if they don’t acknowledge that the same would apply to Old Testament laws against homosexuality. They can’t have their cake and eat it too.
